Erin Elsley

Art and creativity has always been something that is an inherent part of Erin and whoshe is. She loves to draw, paint and create and always have done so since she was a small child.

Her passion for visual arts blossomed during high school where she completed several Visual Arts subjects for her HSC. She left school and began a Bachelor of Arts at University, majoring in Visual Art and Art History, with the aim to become a high school art teacher. Erin then moved over to primary school teaching, where she has been educating now for almost 17 years. Her passion for visual arts is pursued through a career working with students and creating school mural projects.

Painting is something Erin has always done for herself creating pieces for her home. Erin says her biggest supporter and form of encouragement was her Mum, who was one of the most creatively, inspiring people she knew. Erin’s Mum was extremely talented and had the ability to work with ease to pick up any artistic style and medium.

Last year, Erin lost my beautiful Mum suddenly to mental health. This had a profound effect on her life and prompted Erin to pick up the paintbrush again and lose herself in painting.

Painting and creating has been immensely therapeutic for Erin and has helped her to both find and lose herself at the same time. It has helped her heal and has nurtured her own mental health and wellbeing.

After constant encouragement from friends and family, Erin has taken the brave step to share my artistic creations with the wider world. This is Erin’s first public exhibition.
