How do three artists interpret the same sitter? 
In March 2020, Layla Bacayo and Sarah McEwan were meant to travel to Liverpool England to undertake a residency at Blue Room, an inclusive studio at Bluecoat, Liverpool’s centre for the contemporary art. Layla and Sarah were planning on collaborating with Blue Room artist, Veronica Watson, to present ‘Mash-up’, that featured portraits of people associated with Blue Room and the Art Factory. 

In bringing together their artworks and their different approaches to portrait making, Layla, Sarah and Veronica aimed to reveal each sitter in a more multi-dimensional way. 

Due to the complications of this global pandemic, ‘Mash-up’ is now being presented in Wagga Wagga, amongst the Art Factory community to celebrate the people who work in making inclusive practices part of our everyday lives.
