The Curious Drag Pageant for Amateur Kings and Queens
Have you always wanted to try drag as a King or Queen? Did you get intrigued behind the scenes of RuPaul’s Drag Races and thought Drag might be something you could do? Well, we have the perfect event for you to test your talents. The Curious Drag Pageant is a competition for aspiring or emerging amateur drag kings and queens from Regional NSW.
Australia is the unofficial spiritual home of drag queens and kings. For decades, the country has treated them with the kind of reverence often reserved for royals and religious leaders. Dame Edna Everage led the charge for decades and then the 1994’s The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert shone a spotlight on our drag scene, and while COVID has taken a shine off our glitter and glam it’s time to get back into it!
Hosted by resident Drag Queen Rose Quartz The Curious Amateur Drag Pageant is a safe environment for drag newbies to do the damn thing - and for drag enthusiasts bask in their drag glory.

Vickie Burkinshaw, The Curious Rabbit
